I know I've been MIA for a while, but now I'm back (especially since the college app craziness and finals are over).

I spent some time in San Francisco over winter break, where I visited not only the Golden Gate Bridge and Chinatown, but also Union Square, the hub of San Francisco's shopping. Nordstrom, just a couple of blocks off of Union Square, was packed (understandably, considering it was just before Christmas), however I found this amazing long dress there, from the brand VPL.

Upon walking through Chinatown on my way to dinner, I could not help myself when I saw all of the fuzzy animal hats (complete with paw hand compartments)... I just had to buy a Hello Kitty one. Unfortunately, I was not in the mood to use my ever-helpful bargaining skills, so I was majorly ripped off on this purchase (especially considering I would never wear it outside my own home). But it's alright, at least I've gotten a couple of laughs out of it.

Parisian Princess & Supermodel Pooch

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! I love this holiday, it's also so joyous, and brings everyone together, whether it's friends, family or even rarely-talked to acquaintances...

I've been in an especially artsy mood today, as I always am when faced with much-needed down time. This accounts for my creation of not just one, but two Polyvore collage masterpieces.

As for my fashion choices, I am wearing a Tiffany blue Wildfox cashmere shrunken sweater with a black Brandy & Melville maxi skirt (a little late to be blogging that trend, I know), black Belle by Sigerson Morrison flats, and silver jewelry.

This outfit & background (which is my bed) remind me of Paris (and my far-fetched dream of being some sort of Parisian goddess)... Maybe it's the "No. 1" on my sweater, which automatically makes me think of Chanel's numbered perfumes. Or maybe its the color scheme, reminiscent of the Hotel Castille, which is where I stayed when I visited Paris:

One of my dogs decided not to budge when I tried to move him out of the frame, so I instead took advantage of his cuteness and had some fun posing with him in the grass: In this next photo, which is a close-up of the last one, you can also kind of see my unusual-for-me make-up; My eyes are rimmed with black MAC liquid liner (winged, of course), with MAC's "Hint of Sapphire" eyeshadow (worn as eyeliner) around that:

Why aren't the leaves crispy yet?

Frosty windshield on my car, chilly air, skinny peppermint mochas in jolly burgundy Starbucks cups, layers of cashmere and wool, and early sunsets that fade into quiet nights... Besides the fact that basically every plant in sight is still green and thriving, it's finally starting to feel like fall/winter, in my opinion, the best time of the year.

Fall and winter fashion are also, of course, highly regarded. Designers never hesitate to pile on the fabrics, and on the coldest of days (which are few and far between here in L.A.), so do I.

In these photos, I went more for the fall color scheme as opposed to the bundled-up look. I am wearing a beige BCBG cashmere tube top, a sheer Lush button-down blouse, chestnut Rich & Skinny flared pants, a BCBG belt...and BCBG snakeskin heels (in the first two photos), but I changed to black strappy Dolce Vita wedges for the last two photos. For jewelry, I opted for my usual assortment of silver, plus a short strand of pearls as a necklace:

And why did I change my shoes, might my style stalkers be asking? Answer: to go with my brand new black patent Yves Saint Laurent clutch!!! Shared with my mom and sister, this timeless bag our latest purchase, and will undoubtedly be worn by one of us to any and every significant event in the next many years:

Put another dime in the jukebox baby

I figured I'd try to go a little rock n roll for this post... I bought this extremely soft and comfortable Chaser sweatshirt at Bloomingdale's. And I know, I'm a little late on the leopard trend (I had been obsessed with the Current/Elliott leopard stilettos over the summer, and was heartbroken when they looked AWFUL on me... But when I saw these leopard skinnys (Joe's), all was forgotten. My sister helped photograph and style me; I'm wearing her Steve Madden platform wedges, and a few of her necklaces and rings mixed in with mine.

On another note, I started reading the Alexa Chung issue of Teen Vogue and fell in love with the story "Nailed". I am amazed by the perfection that nail artist Fleury Rose achieves in painting each nail to look like a different runway design. Literally, I have never seen such beautiful works of art on such a small scale. For the story, Rose had painted prints straight from the current Miu Miu, Prada and Balenciaga collections, among others, making each nail an individual piece of a trend report. It definitely inspired me to get creative with my nail art, as opposed to using my go-to Chanel graphite, chipping away as we speak.

Oh my Alexander

Hello again... Sorry for the lack of posts; school and college apps are the culprits for that.

Anyway, after seeing the Alexander McQueen exhibit at the Met in New York, I became obsessed with not only his outlandish creativity and originality, but also his classic skull-print chiffon scarf, an iconic piece of his. After dreaming of owning it for a few months, my wish was granted...

Because I got the black and white color scheme, I can pair this scarf with just about anything. Here, I am wearing my robin's egg blue Genetic Denim capris (to go along with this season's colored jeans trend, which is undoubtedly catching on everywhere), a white tank top, a BCBG belt, my black Dolce Vita wedges and an assortment of silver jewelry, plus a vintage black beaded necklace, worn as a bracelet.

Baci & Reversible

So last post I talked a little bit about Baci, the amazing boutique I found while walking in Nolita (a neighborhood in downtown Manhattan, for all you non-New Yorkers). Baci and Adriana helped my sister and I pick out some pieces and styled looks for us. Overall, it was a great, personal shopping experience...The opposite of what you would get at a department store or even a small boutique with snooty salespeople (which seems to happen a little too frequently). I only ended up getting an asparagus colored t-shirt, but since it is a such a staple, I have worn it so many times already.

As for my Bleulab shorts, they are from a little boutique near my house (another gem that has nice salespeople). And what's cool about them is: They are reversible! So amazing, righttttt? Well I'm a fan at least...

Last cool thing that I'll be wearing my photos: my grandma's vintage magnifying glass that she gave me over the summer. I love that it's true vintage, passed from her to me (and my sister to share). And it also opens up so it can have two lenses at once...

More East Coast Photo Diaries...

Finally back from the east coast... To say it was successful in the shopping department would be an understatement. In addition to finding a ton of small things here and there from stores around NYC, I found two jackpot (but on sale) dresses: one for homecoming, and, more importantly, one for prom. Unfortunately for you style stalkers, I'm keeping the details under wraps until the actual event, so I can display these dresses in their full glory (with hair, makeup, jewelry, and the bag, of course). With this huge relief of not having to scramble around for a dress the weekend before, each dress was definitely worth every penny. Can't wait to blog them! In the meantime, here are a few of my urban, as well as suburban, chic outfits.

Here I am posing in Nolita, one of my favorite shopping areas in the city. There are so many cute boutiques around there, including Baci (more to follow on this fabulous boutique in my next post). Anyway, I am wearing black American Apparel overalls, leather Luxury Rebel lace-up flats, my favorite black bag, my entire stash of gold jewelry, and a colorful silk scarf given to me by my true New Yorker grandmother. A Slice of the City

Well, well, well, I'm finally back in NYC after a year of deprivation from its fabulousness. I already took a nice jog around the reservoir, shopped, saw the Alexander McQueen exhibit at the Met without waiting in line for even a second, had some tea at my favorite tea shop, shopped some more and of course had a delicious dinner.

The McQueen exhibit was super crowded, needless to say, with a wait time of 2 hours for the general public to get in. Thankfully, my grandparents have a membership to the museum, so I was able to stroll right into the very avant garde gallery. The exhibit had the best and most outrageous of McQueen's designs- from a dress made of fresh flowers to a skull adorned headpiece to the ever- famous "armadillo shoes" (as seen on Lady Gaga at various points in time), seeing it all was so inspiring and fascinating. I have a new respect for McQueen and his ability to combine fashion with sculpture, as well as make statements of all sorts.

Another exciting find of the day was the accidental discovery of a little consignment shop, Margoth, on the Upper East Side. Normally, I have no patience to go through racks and racks of clothes to possibly find something cute that is possibly my size and tear/rip free. Today, however, I got lucky and found a beautiful black Elie Tahari chiffon tank top that fit me perfectly. As soon as I find a complete outfit to wear it with, I will definitely be posting it. And now time for the photos...

Sailing through Summer

So far, this summer has been a crazy one. I've been so busy with my internship for a fashion PR company.It's definitely interesting, and I have learned a lot. Plus I have gotten the chance to see and organize a ton of amazing clothes for the company's showroom... It's basically Brian Atwood land over there (I had to organize 150 pairs of shoes at once last week). Anyway, I bought a few work appropriate outfits the BCBG presale- only to find out that most of the employees just wear jeans and heels. At least I got a few cute outfits out of it... Dressing & Mood Board

Finally it warmed up a little here, and its starting to feel like summer. I am so excited that I can wear my dresses and sandals, which have been locked away in my closet for what feels like forever.

I bought this Bailey 44 dress at a small boutique in Studio City. The fabric is so soft and light that it makes this dress perfect to wear in the scorching weather to come. Since I don't have the perfect sandals yet, I decided to pair the dress with my black AllSaints boots. I actually like the contrast between the feminine, sweet dress and the edgier boots...

On another note, I decided to make kind of a mood board for the spring season. I spent weeks designing a few looks and cutting out pictures that correlate (sort of) with this season's trends. It took a lot of work, but I like the final product. I'm thinking about making one for every season and hanging the current one in my room, just so I always have something to look at that inspires me.

Summery Brights & Little Obsessions

I'm done with AP testing and it's 95 degrees and sunny out. But, most importantly, I get to wear lighter and brighter clothes to go with the season... It truly feels like summer.

I recently bought this sheer hot pink flowy blouse from Free People. I love how versatile it is; I can wear it in the daytime with shorts and a bathing suit top, or I can pair it with skinny jeans or leggings and some killer heels to dress it up for nighttime.

Here, I am wearing it with an old bathing suit top, white cut-off True Religion shorts, silver Michael Kors wedges, Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses, a silver clutch, and some random colorful bangles. Overall, I think this outfit catches the essence of the fun, carefree upcoming summer that I am so looking forward to.

On a different note, there are a few beauty products that I obsessed with right now. I might have rediscovered MAC, because I just can't get enough. I just bought their super sparkly dazzleglass (in "Moth to the Flame") and their fluidline eyeliner (in "Macroviolet). Also, I am still in love with their superslick liquid eyeliner, which I have in the colors "Desires & Devices" and "Marked for Glamour".

Shifting away from MAC products, my new favorite mascara is Diorshow. It gives my lashes a lot of volume and isn't clumpy at all.

And last but not least, I have been wearing OPI's glittery "Bring on the Bling" nail polish. It is so glittery and shiny that people actually thought I got gels... I must say though, it is nowhere near as smooth as the gel version of this color, so I definitely recommend using a top coat.

MAKEUP!!:
This silver pouch/clutch is one of my only possessions from Forever 21. And the sunglasses are my only Marc by Marc Jacobs item. Interesting contrast?:

Trash & Vaudeville

OMG I can't even believe it... Until now, I totally forgot to post these amazing shredded Tripp NYC army pants that I got over the summer at Trash & Vaudeville, a store I discovered in the East Village of New York. I actually never would have gone into the store had my friend not told me about it- from the outside, it looks like it would be a little too rocker for my taste... But once I went inside, I was proven wrong. Plus Jimmy, the owner, is super cool and loved helping me find things to try on. And he gave me a free Trash & Vaudeville t-shirt. Like I said: super cool.

I'm wearing my Tripp NYC pants with a white Topshop crop top (I rolled up the sleeves), a Splendid tank, and my black AllSaints boots:

I actually cut the Trash & Vaudeville logo t-shirt that Jimmy gave me... It's kind of hard to tell, but I made the neck wider and I slitted the back of the shirt to make it even more edgy:

3 Shoes 1 Outfit

Finally, some true spring weather has arrived. I have major spring fever- school is the last place I want to be, especially when Malibu and an outdoor mall (or even just my backyard), are calling. The good news is, I can at least wear my new spring shoes, mixing and matching them with different outfits. Beige/ tan are the en vogue colors for spring... which is evident in every designers' collections. And not to be a follower, but I couldn't help getting a couple new pairs of shoes to go along with this color craze. I got leather, nude colored Luxury Rebel lace up flats and suede, beige, Sam Edelman embellished sneakers (both from Bloomingdales). These shoes make me so happy... and they actually go with a lot of my different outfits, believe it or not.

My sister gave me her cream Free People lace button down shirt, and I wore it with black Citizens of Humanity pants (rolled up to be capris for spring), some chunky necklaces, and a colorful silk scarf (from my grandma) tied around my head, to give the outfit some color and edge. So I tried the outfit with my two new pairs of trendy shoes, plus my BCBG heels (see previous post)... it turns out all three pairs of shoes work with this one outfit. It makes it easy to go from a day at school to the mall to an evening out, if I were to ever have to...

BCBG Love/ Pre-Spring 2011

Wellll hello there my style stalkers. I'm so excited to share my wonderful new spring wardrobe thanks to BCBG...As soon as I walked into the store, I picked up this adorable pair of gray suede shorts. I have never seen anything like them, and I immediately knew I had to have them. I put them on and as soon as I walked out of the dressing room, Simone, my new favorite salesperson, skillfully picked out a few key pieces to create both day and night looks. I cannot say enough good things about BCBG and the styling help that Simone gave me. She quickly picked out a belt, three shirts, and a pair of gorgeous heels that literally transformed me from a boringly dressed rainy day shopper into someone who could've walked straight off of the BCBG Spring 2011 runway. And, finally, she showed me the cutest gold ring with my zodiac sign- capricorn- embellished on it in little crystals (not to mention it was only $20).

Needless to say, that shopping trip was a complete success, mostly in quality, but also in quantity:

We're All Saints... Or Are We?

OMFG... Bloomingdales had the most amazing sale on basically their entire AllSaints section. Needless to say, I could barely fit everything that I wanted to try on in my dressing room. I literally thought that I had gone to heaven.

Now first, let me just explain that I only recently discovered the brand when I was in New York, and a salesman from a store recommended that I go into the AllSaints store in SoHo. Their edgy but romantic pieces are pretty much a reflection of my (ideal) style in a nutshell...

Anyway, even though the AllSaints section of Bloomingdales is about a tenth of the size of the actual store in New York, I ended up buying a two t-shirts, a belt, and- most importantly- amazingly beautiful boots.

Bag&Bible

I'm just feeling so fashionably inspired right now... Finals are over, the weather is perfect, and now I have a 4 day weekend ahead of me, homework free. What better to do than sketch, design, and read up on some trends?

For my birthday, which was last Tuesday, a family friend gave me Fashion (by Taschen), a book full of pictures on fashion from the 18th century to now... It really got me thinking about how weird it seems that people used to wear huge hoopskirts everywhere. How uncomfortable. The thing I love about this book is that it explains how/why trends came to be. It's really interesting and definitely has given me some good ideas for new designs of my own.

And now for my outfit: I got this floral ruffle-y dress on sale at Free People. I love the colors in it and its springy feel. I'm wearing it with black leggings, my Sam Edelman wedges, and a patent leather red bag.

Wassup 2011/Maui

Happy New Year to everyone!!! I cannot believe it's 2011...My sister and I decided that it sounds so- futuristic.

Anyway, I had an amazing time in Maui relaxing on the beach, drawing, reading, and just taking in the chill "aloha spirit" of Hawaii. I found this really pretty sarong in a cheap store on Front St., a cute street filled with stores and restaurants in the town of Lahaina. It took me forever to figure out a good way to wrap the sarong (so that it would be somewhat flattering). Winter Prep at Dusk

I love fall/winter fashion... Honestly there is nothing like a beautiful sweater... I got this cream colored cropped sweater from the Nordstrom. I love the little slits it has at the elbows (gotta keep it unique, right?). I'm wearing a plain black long sleeve shirt under it.

I'm wearing it with a black pleated Aqua skirt from the kids section of Bloomingdale's. It was such a bargain... I love being small!!

I'm also wearing black tights, my new black suede Boutique 9 over-the-knee boots, a black suede Brandy & Melville bag, and my Betsey Johnson statement necklace (see previous post for a close-up).

Sunset is by far the best time to take pictures but unfortunately, it was almost completely dark outside before I got good enough pictures...But here they are:

Back in Black & Texture

SORRRY!!!!- I know it's been forever since I've blogged...But now I am seriously back because I have a lot to make up for. So here goes:

OMFG I'm in loveee with my new leather blazer. It's from Nordstrom's line called Trouve, and my mom actually picked it out for me. I normally have such a hard time finding blazers because most of them completely drown my petite frame...But this one is nicely fitted. The only downside to it is that it has some shoulder padding- but I guess that gives it structure, so it's worth it. This is definitely my new favorite clothing item. Like seriously, it is the most chic blazer I have ever seen. And I can either dress it up to look more businessy; or I can dress it down by wearing it (with skinny jeans and heels) to a party.

I got this black lacy dress from Free People... It was too hot to wear leggings, so I just wore some black shorts under it (I would not advise doing that normally, but I was desperate).

My statement necklace is a gorgeous find from Betsey Johnson. It has the vintagey old Hollywood glamor look to it that I adore, but at the same time, it's not too loud.

My black clutch and sexy satin slingbacks are both from BCBG... I have a new love for that brand. Everything from their dresses to shoes to jewelry is beautiful and chic. BCBG is definitely my favorite designer of the moment...

And last but not least, the gray straw hat that that is covering my face is actually from Urban Outfitters. It was super cheap- I saw it but didn't buy it, and the next thing I knew it was on sale! I'm not a huge hat person, but this one reminds me of something a super-chic Parisian girl would wear to the beach. Need I say more?

Chic on a Budget

Heyyy I'm back... I know I kind of abandoned my blog for a couple of weeks. School is just so crazy!!

Anyway, I wanted to do a post on a look of mine that was super reasonable...My black lace t-shirt is from the Wasteland, a vintage store that I love. I have realized that I like the idea of wearing vintage more than I enjoy spending a lot of time going through racks and racks of old clothes. But when I find something good, I feel quite accomplished. And this shirt was $30-ish. Considering how chic/expensive it looks, I'd say that is a great deal. Now my black pumps were a lucky find at M. Fredric. They were only $38, but as a wardrobe staple I wear them with almost every fancier outfit that I own. My pale pinkish lavender (I can't tell which it is) skirt is from H&M, and, at less than $30, it was probably my biggest score (price-wise) of the year. And, finally, I'm wearing my favorite gold chain necklaces to make my outfit look a little more finished... These too were under $40, which is amazing because they can be worn with many of my different outfits.

Fall into Fall

I am so anxious for this fall weather to actually kick in... It's still pretty so hot, which I am totally not into anymore. Another reason is my school's super-strict dress code has gotten even more- uptight, to put it nicely, so here I am being forced to wear conservative leggings and a sweater... Unfortunately, none of the dresses I own are appropriate enough :(.

At least I'm getting the chance to wear my fall clothes, right?

Here I am in a wine colored lacy top from Nordstrom, black zipper leggings, a brown fuzzy sweater (to avoid getting "dress-coded" at school), Sam Edelman lace-up boots, and a gold necklace. if this outfit doesn't say fall, I don't know what does. I just wish the weather could match my outfit.

A look into fall

Well, here I am back at school and it's the month of September... so why is it still so so incredibly hot? I want fall, the all-time favorite season of fashion. Hopefully it will cool down in the next couple days.

Yesterday I went to American Apparel and a couple other stores, looking for more clothes to wear to school. I found these amazing black overalls (at American Apparel) and this gorgeous leather belt (from a chic boutique in Studio City called Indexx), as well as a lot of other stuff.

Here I am in my new overalls, soft leather belt, Sam Edelman gray suede wedges, and some silver bangles:

This brown leather belt is so soft. It wraps, and then I tied it in the back. The brand is Ada- definitely check it out. It was so hard choosing a color because they were all gorgeous:

Summer Reminiscing

I can't believe the summer is over...it went by wayyy too fast. I feel like the last day of school was yesterday, and now tomorrow I am starting my junior year.

Anyway, I got this amazing white Bailey 44 dress in the Savvy section of Nordstrom. It's the perfect summer dress, and I love it with my Michael Kors silver wedges and silver bag. I might just have to break the "no white after labor day" rule because, unfortunately, I can't bear to put this dress away until next year...

Topshop animal

I would like to dedicate this post to Topshop. Located in the fabulous neighborhood of Soho, this store was heaven in the form of clothes, shoes, and accessories. I didn't have a lot of time to spend in there, but what I did get was amazing. Besides the 2 things I am posting, I also got a white crop top and an adorable bra from Topshop... I am seriously in love with that store.

NEW york

I finally got home from New York last Sunday... It was such an amazing trip, full of shopping, designing and sewing at FIT, walking through almost every single neighborhood in Manhattan, seeing shows/ concerts, and hanging out in Central Park, all with my best friend.

I know this is a style blog, but this can't go unmentioned... My friend and I saw Black Eyed Peas perform on Good Morning America- and we were front row and center. It was AMAZING. They performed 3 songs and then the guys did some improv rapping, while Fergie just kind of went "shooby dooby doo" (not too impressive).

We also saw the cast of American Idiot perform some songs on GMA, which was also amazing. Then my friend and I actually went to the Broadway show. It was pretty mediocre, although there were a couple of cuties in it so I can't complain. And, strangely enough, we saw one of the actors (my favorite one) at a restaurant on the last day of our trip-and got a picture with him.

Besides all of that, my friend and I spent a lot of time shopping. Soho, the Upper West Side, Nolita, the Upper East Side, the East Village, Chelsea, you name it, we went there.

There were a few stores in particular that I fell in love with (and remembered what they are called): Trash and Vaudeville, Topshop, All Saints, Bergdorf Goodman, and the Young Designers' Market. Since there's waaaay too much to cover in one post, I'll just cover a couple things at a time.

Here I am in an Urban Outfitters blouse, white True Religion shorts, my new All Saints brown leather boots, and some new bracelets from markets in NYC:

These lace-up boots are from the store in SoHo called All Saints (which actually has a location on Robertson Blvd also). I love their worn-in look, and they are so versatile- they can be folded or laced all the way up, and can give any outfit a tougher look. All Saints had a huge selection of shoes, clothes, and accessories that are this style, which I love.

The bracelet on the left was about $2.50 from some street market in Chelsea. There were

very few of this exact style, so I felt lucky to find my intial. The leather bracelet on the right is a wrap

bracelet from the Young Designers Market in the Nolita area. The designer, Marc Bernstein,

actually there was selling them... Everything of his was so chic. He even has some stuff in Barneys.

Anyway, I can't believe how well these two bracelets go together- it was definitely meant to be.

Leaving on a Jet Plane

Ahh I'm frantically packing right now. My room is a mess, and everything, from clothes to books to shoes, is scattered all over the floor. And I definitely just tripped over a pair of sandals...ouch.

In case you are wondering, the fabulous place I'm so busy packing for is NEW YORK CITY. I'm going with a friend for a few weeks to take two classes (fashion art and sewing) at FIT, and of course do all the other usual New York stuff. I'm hoping that I will have a ton of new outfit posts, and updates on everything about the city.

I haven't really had time to take pictures of any outfits lately, but here are the rhinestone Havianas I got at a showroom (see last post) when I went sample sale shopping with FIDM. Normally, these would be at least $50, but I got them for $25...And I love the color:

3 Days of Fashion

Last week I attended 3 Days of Fashion at FIDM. Basically, it was 3 days of learning a little bit about every aspect of the fashion industry from designing textiles to draping and seeing how the showrooms work. Needless to say, I loved it.

First, everyone was gathered to hear the designers (who graduated from FIDM) of Burlapp, a brand that is sold in Anthropologie, speak. Then they gave a show of their new collection, which included tons of chic, fun dresses. I can't wait to go on a major spree in Anthropologie this fall.

Then, we were told to take a plain t-shirt and have fun designing it. My friend and I teamed up to create an adorable one-shouldered tee with cute, Grecian-inspired detail.

On the second day (Thursday), a FIDM graduate who owns a showroom came to speak about her job. Basically, she is an agent of fashion and works with buyers, who visit her showroom to pick what ends up in stores. Learning about her job was so interesting...maybe I'll own a showroom in the future? I like that it involves both business and fashion, just my type of job.

Then, we had about an hour to practice draping on a mannequin. Unfortunately, we couldn't keep our designs (we just pinned them in place on the mannequins), but I got some nice photos of our work:

The third day was by far the best. It was the last Friday of the month, meaning almost every showroom in the fashion district was open to the public for sample sales. Since the showrooms' clothes start out at wholesale prices and I tried to bargain, I got some really good deals: rhinestone Haviana flip-flops, a navy sweater, and studded True Religions...all at amazingly cheap prices. I will post pictures of my new clothes soon, for sure.

Finally, to end the program, Nick Verreos, a FIDM graduate who was on Project Runway, spoke and presented 3 of his gowns to us (with the model Amanda, who was also on the show). After, I got to meet and take a picture with both Nick and Amanda, who were so nice.

Overall, I would say that the 3 Days of Fashion at FIDM was a success. And a major source of fashion inspiration. Now I have to go get ready for my course at FIT, which starts mid July. How much more fashionable can this summer get?...

Athena of the Valley

I am in love with Anthropologie now. All because of one dress I found there, from the brand Plenty by Tracy Reese. With its blue and white stripes, draping, and flowy silouhette, it reminds me of something a Greek goddess would wear...or at least a dress that someone would wear while vacationing in Santorini (like Lena from Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants). I adore the shape of this dress and the playful, chic vibe it gives off. A dress like this is a summer necessity.

Layers of Summer

Finally it's summer!!! Aka I will have more time to blog and experiment with new looks...hopefully. So far this is what I have come up with in the mix-and-match department:

I bought a super cute pair of white True Religion shorts, but they are kind of long so I folded them. On top I am wearing an aqua tank under a lacy button-down top from LF and my favorite vintage belt (see True Vintage- my 3rd post from January). I'm also wearing a red patent bag, my gold Joan and David gladiators, and some random jewelry.

On a different note, my camera died while I was taking photos for this post... but the good news is I already replaced it with a brand new Canon which I cannot wait to use... Stay tuned.

California Girls, we're undeniable

Hey hey stylish stalkers... Last weekend I went on a Free People shopping spree wtih my friend... it was so fun- who knew that two people could find so much to try on in one little store?

When I saw this dress, I knew I absolutely had to have it. I love the silouhette; it's flowy without being too baggy. Underneath, I'm wearing a Free People stretchy tube-top type of thing (it's like a full body bandeau). Worn with my lace-up boots and my new Free People sunglasses, I think this outfit embodies L.A. style. In other words, it's laid back, chic, and perfect the sunny weather... and writing this post totally made me think of the Katy Perry song "California Gurls".

Silver sequined shimmery soul

Sequins, shimmer, silver,... what's not to love? I got this outfit wayyyy last minute to wear to a party...literally I bought the dress, the bag, and the shoes all in one day, and in 3 different malls. It was pretty stressful trying to find the perfect match, and I was desperate for a new outfit.

I randomly found this silver sequined Flowers by Zoe dress in Bloomingdale's. I love how it pretty much says, "PARTY" without being too fancy. I got these silver sandals from a store called Wild Pair, and the bag is from the Vault... I would say I had a very successful shopping day, especially since I had been needing new silver sandals for a long time.

Q: What is the most amazing favorite arts & crafts project EVER?

A: TIE DYE!!!

That pretty much says it all. As much as I hate to admit it though, I did not tie dye these myself, but they kind of inspired me to be creative. And it just so happened that I ended up tie-dying a t-shirt this weekend at a charity event, but I lost it...

Anyway, I decided to roll up the pants into capris and pair them with a white tank top, my Sam Edelman wedges, and a black Brandy & Melville bag. I know everyone is probably sick of seeing me wear these shoes in every post, but I love them so much, I just can't help it...

Here is a close-up of my pants and bag. I just recently discovered Brandy & Melville, an Italian brand with amazing prices. This bag was only $12... Which I could not believe when I first saw it.

Hey hey everyone I'm back... I know it's been a while...

A couple of weeks ago I got this adorable striped t-shirt from Seven, even though the shirt is actually Splendid. It's so comfortable and I can either dress it up for a party, or down for school.

I decided to put on some bright accessories with this, just for fun. The bracelet is from Forever 21 (even though I now hate that store) and my pink headbands are from Urban Outfitters. I'm also weraing black jean shorts, a hot pink Michael Stars tank top, and my Sam Edelman wedges:

This tiny gold giraffe necklace is from a little boutique in NYC. I loveeee it and have been wearing it almost every day since I got it. The giraffe is about the size of my thumbnail, to give you a clue of how tiny it is:

East Coast Love

I am having a great time here on the east coast. Delaware was pretty quiet and calm, but in a good way. My sister and I had a mini-photoshoot...She did my makeup, styled me, and took the pictures. The goal was to be pretty funky, and I think it turned out pretty well.

Today, we took the train to New York. Now that is my kind of city (it has been one of my favorite places for as long as I can remember). My mom, my sister, and I walked for about 20 blocks, stopping in quite a few boutiques along the way. Overall, everything was perfect: the weather, the city, even my ice blended from Starbucks. I feel like there is never enough time to do everything when I'm here- that's the only downside to my 4 day stay in the city. Who knows what tomorrow will bring... I am definitely going to be doing as much exploring as possible, which I always do when I visit.

FREEDOM: It's finally spring break and I am sooo excited! I am leaving on Monday for a trip to the east coast with my family. I will definitely have a lot of good outfit photos to share.

FREE PEOPLE: A few weeks ago, I got this really cute white lacy Free People top. It has an old, almost Victorian vibe, but it's totally modern at the same time. I'm wearing it with black Citizens of Humanity skinny jeans (rolled up to be capris), my Sam Edelman wedges, and some new jewelry (see below).

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I've been sooo busy with school. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I got an email from someone from the scarf company Bellarina. He saw me wearing one of their scarves on my blog, and offered to give me 50% off on any other scarf that I want...just because I blogged it!! How cool is that?

Hopelessly Inspired

Yes, I am hopelessly inspired by everything (notice how I even changed my blog's look). I really should be catching up on some homework right now, but I feel it is my job as a blogger to keep everyone fashionably in the loop.

First of all, I am obsessed with "Kell on Earth", the show on Bravo all about Kelly Cutrone, the master of the fashion P.R. world. This show is so fascinating that I actually kind of want to be in fashion public relations now. Honestly, Kelly's job seems so amazing, although it looks really stressful.

Lookbook is yet another one of my inspirational faves... So many people from so many different places post their looks there, and I admire how unique each outfit is. And I, of course, post my looks on Lookbook every once in a while (click here for my page).

And I cannot forget the super-important Style.com. It has every look from almost every fashion show, and is really good keeping me updated with everything going on in the fashion world... So much to style-stalk, so little time.

Anyway, I just threw this outfit on, in an attempt to mix it up a little bit. I am wearing a white shirt, a gray Free People sweater (previously worn by me as a crop top), black True Religions, a blue Raj scarf, and my suede Sam Edelman boots (see previous post for close-up):

Two words: NEW BOOTS. I got them at Kitson in Malibu, and I love them. These amazing suede Sam Edelman boots lace up, have buckles on them and are perfect for spring. For their "premier" at school (aka the first time wearing them), I wore them with my new beaded Carribean Queen tank top (from the boutique Anat B.) and a new pair of black zip-up leggings from Planet Blue.

All's fair in love and war...right?

Here I am again, with another spring/ warmish weather post. I got this amazing black sequined and brass studded Ark & Co. vest at a small boutique in the mall. I love that it's not the type of thing that I normally wear, because I am definitely in the mood to experiment, especially with the new season approaching. It kind of reminds me of something that someone would wear in combat (see title)...or just if they want to look kind of tough. I paired the vest with some holey light-washed jean shorts, Juicy Couture bangles (worn at the top of my arm), and All Black flats. Lately, since I have pretty small wrists/arms, I have been wearing bangles on the top part of my arms-and I highly recommend it for anyone else who has that problem.

In this photo, I'm saluting to my new vest, spring weather, and, most importantly, everyone who isn't afraid to step out of their shell once in a while...whether it's in fashion or just plain life.

Hey hey... After a mini-blog hiatus (I blame it on the homework), I am back and ready to show off my brand new, beautiful, gray, suede Sam Edelman wedges. Perfect for the spring weather, I just had to have these gorgeous shoes...and I cannot wait to wear them when March rolls around. And, lucky for me, right after I bought them, I found a chic floral shirt in the B.P. section of Nordstrom. Between my new flowy, flowery top and my wedges, I am more than ready for springtime. And, fortunately, the beautiful weather is helping me out...

Bedazzled

Hello everyone...The results of my latest poll are here...The question was "What is your stylish dream job?" and the results are that "fashion photographer" and "model" tied for first. I actually voted that I would like to be a stylist, but in reality, I would love to have any of the jobs listed in the poll.

When I saw this Heart & Crowns dress in a little boutique in Mammoth, I fell in love. The rhinestones give it the perfect amount of sparkle, while its black color keeps it classy. Paired with my red Jimmy Choo peep toes, I think it is the perfect thing to wear to a party.

And, speaking of my beloved Jimmy Choos, I finally got around to taking a picture of the ceramic Jimmy Choo I made a couple of years ago. It is supposed to be the same shoe I have except in pink, except I didn't have enough time to make the gold buckle...But I still think it's pretty good.

Happiness and stuff

I have a lot to blog about these days including a) my latest poll's results, b) my recently acquired blogger award, and c) my outfit of the day, as usual.

First of all, New York and Paris tied for first in my "What is your favorite stylish city?" poll question. Those two, plus Milan, are definitely my favorites (although I ended up voting for Paris). Although I have only been to Paris once, I would definitely characterize it (style-wise) as the classiest stylish city, with many people wearing sleek black ensembles and fun, chic accessories... Anyway, be sure to check out my new poll question (in the top right corner).

I received the Happy Award from The Trendy Dwarf. Definitely take a look at his blog on street style!! As part of the award, I am supposed to list 10 things that make me happy, so here goes :

1) My family and my dogs.

2) Reading.... Gone with the Wind is currently on my nightstand.

3) Taking walks.

4) Sleeping until 10 or later... I feel completely refreshed

5) Blogging

6) Drawing/designing

7) Old Britney Spears music... I guess it reminds me of when I was little?

True Vintage

Hello my style stalkers... Again, I'm super sorry about going the whole week without posting. I have a new poll (in the top right corner of the blog), so be sure to vote for your favorite stylish city.

I had some free time today so I just threw this outfit together...It's just a new mix of some pieces that I have had for a while plus a new-ish necklace. My belt is the main focus of this post. Made by my great-grandfather, my belt (that my grandma passed down to me) is just under 60 years old. It is made out of aluminum that my great-grandpa found in a junkyard. I love the flowers engraved in it. The fact that the belt is truly vintage (and made by my creative great-grandpa) also makes me love it so much. I will definitely treasure this belt forever.

Business girl

First off, I would like to say that shoes are amazing. That is why they won my little poll asking "What is your favorite item to splurge on?". Personally, that' s what I voted for, and my favorite thing to splurge on, especially since shoes can make or break an outfit. Shoes actually had more votes than everything else combined (only dresses and everyday clothes had votes as well).

So anyway, I know have been kind of a bad blogger lately, but I've been so busy studying for finals that are coming up next week. With no time to take more pictures (or even pick out a creative new outfit), I am using a photo from about a month ago that I never got around to posting. I call it my 'business chic' look. I could definitely picture myself wearing an outfit like this to work when I'm way older. My flared Frankie B. pants have subtle pinstripes (you can't tell from the photo though), which makes them really flattering. I am also wearing a plain black Aqua sweater, a black studded belt, black suede Cole Haan wedges, and my Moschino scarf that I bought in Italy.

Pre-Birthday weekend

This weekend, my last before going back to school (yes, I go back to school on my birthday), was amazing. On Saturday, I did a little furniture shopping with my mom and sister because we are redoing our rooms. Usually, I hate furniture shopping, but my sister and I actually got a mini-photo shoot out of it, so I would say it was pretty successful. Then, my mom took me to tea at the Four Seasons with a couple of friends, which was so fun. And today, my family celebrated my birthday by having dinner at one of my favorite Greek restaurants. Although my actual birthday is tomorrow, my weekend birthday celebrations are now over and it's back to school time. Don't forget to vote in my poll though, it ends tonight!!

To celebrate the new year, new decade, and my birthday (which is in exactly 1 week from today), I want to refresh All Things Vogue a little bit. So far, I have started a poll in the right corner of the blog. The results will be posted on my birthday... so be sure to vote before it's too late. Also, I am promising myself that I will be more creative with both my outfits and my photography. If anyone else has any suggestions, definitely let me know!

So anyway, when my family got home from our vacation, we found our backyard covered in leaves as if it was fall. Seizing the opportunity, my sister and I decided to do a photoshoot out there. I am wearing a purplish gray Velvet sweater, a Trash and Luxury t-shirt, a new pair of gray Frankie B. legging-pants (yes, I do have 3 pairs of legging-pants now-they are so comfortable), my Gianluca Tombolini over-the-knee boots, and tons of sparkly jewelry (including my favorite diamond rings, bangles, and a bracelet worn as a headband).

Merry Christmas everyone!! I've been on vacation this past week (that's why I haven't posted anything new), and unfortunately I come home tomorrow. I have, of course, had some time to shop in the little boutiques near my condo. I got a pair of black Citizens of Humanity legging-pants (they are really leggings even though they have pockets and a zipper). And, to keep things interesting, I paired them with a strechy NikiBiki cheetah print shirt, black Uggs, and my gray cashmere Juicy Couture hat and gloves. In reality, this outfit is way too cold to wear around if you are in a snowy area. I could barely stand on the porch for enough time to take the picture. But if you can stand the cold, definitely go for it.

Mixing it up and giving in style

Lately, I have been pretty fashionably inspired, thanks to some of my holiday presents, a recent (and much needed) shopping trip, and other random things. This morning, I decided to mix and match a little, although I didn't have enough time to really break out of my style-shell. I decided to wear a gray, oversized knit sweater that is both super cozy and really cute. I wore it with a gray Free People shirt, black leggings, my new Gianluca Tombolini boots (which I'm still obsessed with, see the previous post), my leather Juicy Couture gloves, a black fuzzy beret, and my sister's Ed Hardy scarf.

Since it is the holidays, I decided to make a list of presents that any style-conscious person would absolutely love. There are still 2 nights of Hannukah left and Christmas isn't for another 9 days, so there is still time to stock up:

1. Nina Garcia's The Style Strategy: a book on how to shop on a budget and evaluate what you really do and don't need. Books like this and How to Walk in High Heels (Camilla Morton) are relatively cheap and perfect to give if you are unsure of the person's type of style. If you are willing to spend more money, there are plenty of fashion and style books out there about everything from designers' bios to Vogue magazine covers.

2. MAC makeup: They have tons of stuff for the holidays, including brush kits, eyeshadows, lipgloss, and pigments. I got one of the sets of pigments, and I love it so much. Each set (there are 3 different palettes) comes with 5 different mini containers of pigments, which can be used in many ways, including as eyeshadow or to add some shimmer to nail polish. I highly recommend this for makeup lovers.

3. A scarf: There are so many different types of scarves out there, some cheap and some expensive. Target has some cute scarves that are very inexpensive, while Burberry makes classic ones if you are willing to spend some money. And of course, there are many in between.

4. Bangles/chunky rings: They come in a variety of prices and styles, just like scarves. If you are giving holiday presents in mass, this could be the way to go. Forever 21 has fun jewelry, for starters. And, of course, Nordstrom has great jewelry that is youthful and cute.

5. If all else fails, fuzzy socks or an iTunes gift card are the way to go because a) who doesn't love a pair of fuzzy socks to keep their feet toasty warm, and b) who doesn't love to listen to music? These are good gifts for people that are hard to shop for or maybe not so fashionably coordinated.

I hope this holiday list is helpful. And remember, don't be afraid to mix it up a little bit. That's the first thing that Nina Garcia's book on style taught me...

Winter Warm

I know, I know- I have been a horrible blogger lately I AM SO SORRY for not updating lately. But now I'm back and ready to report my newest winter clothes...I went on a pretty big shopping spree yesterday. I finally got a pair of black Gianluca Tombolini leather over-the-knee boots, which I have been wanting for such a long time. They take every outfit to the next level of edginess, and they are so en vogue. I also got this Aqua grey v-neck cashmere sweater. It is so warm and soft, and it comes in a lot of colors. I definitely recommend it since sweaters like this are a wardrobe staple that can be worn forever. My favorite purchase of the day, however, is these Current/Elliott dark wash skinny jeans. They are super stretchy, super skinny, and super chic. Not to mention, they match with everything and I love how they look with my ne

w boots. I'm also wearing red leather and gold Juicy Couture gloves, which add a pop of color to my look.

OH MY JIMMY CHOO!

I am probably the happiest person on planet earth right now, because...I just got my first pair of Jimmy Choos!!! I was looking for a pair of heels and, just for fun, went to Jimmy Choo. Lo and behold, this beautiful pair of red patent leather peep-toe mary-jane heels was on sale for 50% off. But, because nothing is ever so easy, the store was out of a size 6 (my size). Since this was the opportunity of a lifetime, I decided to try on the 5 1/2's. Although they pinched my toes, I bought the amazing God's-gift-to-earth shoes, and let the salesman put them on the store's shoe stretcher. A little while later, I came back into the store and took my shoes (which are still a tad too small) home, where they have been sitting in the box... until the other day, when I finally wore them out to dinner.

Now you might think I'm crazy for buying some expensive, snugly fitting shoes such as these, however there is more to the story. About two years ago, I sculpted these exact Jimmy Choos (except in pink) for a project in ceramics class, which was nominated for an award. So, aside from the fact that I will love and wear these shoes forever, I think it was destiny that I buy them.

So here I am, so excitedly wearing my new Jimmy Choos. I'm also wearing a gray tank top, a Gucci bag (see last post), and black True Religion skinny jeans, which I rolled up to showcase the shoes:

Vintagey for Tea

I went to tea at a cute little tea house the other day, and decided to dress for the occasion by going for the vintage/classy/chic look. Wearing only black, cream, and gold, I achieved this look and felt appropriately dressed once I arrived at the tea house. My cream colored sweater is vintage Sonya Rykel, which I got for about $35 at The Wasteland, a vintage store with tons of discounted designer clothes. Although I am a germ-o-phobe, I definitely approve of shopping at vintage stores...just make sure the clothes aren't damaged or dirty before buying them. And have patience, sometimes it takes a while to find the perfect garment (since vintage stores are not organized very well).

The scarf (which is my sister's) also has a classic feel, being made up of different lacy and ruffled fabrics attached in a really unique way.

And finally, to finish off the look, I decided to wear what used to be my grandmother's black vintage Gucci bag. Although it's technically Italian, I thought it went with my whole classic English tea look very well.

Perfume Party

Last weekend, my mom and I went to a Nordstrom perfume event... It was ah-mazing!!! When we got to Nordstrom at 8 o'clock in the morning (early but worth it), we were given goody bags with tons of stuff in them, as well as raffle tickets and a mini breakfast buffet. There were a bunch of tables lined up in the store with all of the perfumes you could imagine on them: some were stinky and some were heavenly. I ended up buying one bottle of Versace Bright Crystal, a sweet, fruity perfume that comes in a pretty bottle. Along with it, I got (all for free): 3 large bottles of lotion, 2 travel size Bright Crystal perfumes, a mini shower gel, and a mini lotion, all which were Bright Crystal scented. In addition, I won one of the raffle prizes, so I received Chanel Chance perfume, a travel size lotion, and another mini perfume called Alien, all in a super cute Harajuku Lovers tin box. I would definitely say I raked in the goods at this event. And now I have been putting on lotion non-stop.

Strolling Rodeo

Today, since it was my sister's birthday, my mom and I decided to surprise her by taking her to get a makeup lesson at an amazing salon called Glitz and then walking around and shopping in Beverly Hills. This turned out to be an amazing day for all of us.

At the makeup salon, the two owners gave my sister a makeup lesson, and gave me some tips on how to do my makeup. Needless to say, we walked out of the store an hour and a half later with about 12 new beauty products. I am actually excited for school tomorrow because I plan on debuting my new makeup look. Glitz is seriously the best makeup store ever, and I adore the two owners.

Then, my mom, sister, and I went to my favorite restaurant in Beverly Hills-Il Fornaio (delish Italian food) and strolled down Rodeo Drive. We stopped in some stores, and of course I took a ton of pictures.

Flower Girl

So the other day I decided to go "nature chic" with my look-but subtly of course. Instead of wearing the cliche fringes or forest green top, I paired my new gray Honey Punch skirt with my James Steven shirt, Urban Outfitters sweater, and gray suede tie-up flats. Both my shirt and sweater have a rose on them, which give my look a sweet touch, without going all-out nature girl. This is a close-up of my rosy sweater:

Homecoming cheap and chic

Last weekend was my homecoming, which is always a big deal. The dress I wore, believe it or not, was-get ready- $34! I honestly have never bought something so chic for so cheap. The alterations that needed to be done actually cost more than the dress, but still were pretty inexpensive. I'm so glad to have found this deal at one of my favorite boutiques, Soto. The dress not only looks expensive, but the material feels well-made, and I loved everything about it. It might be hard to tell from the photos, but it is folded/ draped in strips going diagonally, with silver beading in some parts, forming sort of a tiger stripe-like pattern.

Inspiration

I am dedicating this post to my top 5 fashion/style inspirations. Unfortunately, my camera broke so until I get a new one (or steal my dad's), I will have to use my imagination.

There are some things in this world that really inspire me to design, experiment (with looks), and just become involved in the fashion world. Here they are:

5. The Devil Wears Prada

I know I mentioned before that it is one of my favorite movies, which could be because every time I watch it I fall more in love with fashion than ever before. The clothes that Andie (Anne Hathaway) wears after her mini-makeover are stunning. And Emily's (Emily Blunt) wardrobe is just to-die-for. Even the scene where Andie goes to a party to pick up some designs from a famous designer makes me determined to have a job where I will be able to go to cool parties like that (and meet amazing designers).

4. Teen Vogue

This magazine is my own little fashion bible. I love everything about it, especially the fashion spreads that have really cool sets (the one shot in Venice was my favorite). Even the "Room of my Own" page (the last page) inspires me to decorate my bedroom to perfection.

3. The Rachel Zoe Project

I watch this show whenever possible because it makes me want to be part of the fashion world so badly. I love seeing the process of styling for events and photo shoots, and of course I love to see Rachel's studio filled with racks and racks of clothes. Not to mention, I get so jealous each time I see an episode where she sits front row at Fashion Week.

2. European style and Europe- so chic.

I'm sure everyone knows by now how obsessed I am by European style- especially the French look. The people there are so sophisticated and classy, it just makes me that much more determined to have that same fabulous presence, which is brought out by a great outfit. Also, just walking on the streets of France and Italy inspired me. I can't really explain how, but I guess it's just that European vibe of the architecture, art, cars, and stores that I love.

1. Style.com and various fashion blogs

First of all, style.com has coverage of almost every runway show. During and after each important Fashion Week, and spend hours looking at photos of each look that comes down the runway. It inspires my designs, and even my personal style. I also spend a lot of time on other fashion blogs, which shows me a variety of real people's outfits and stylish ideas. There are so many blogs out there, I never run out of new looks to see.

Now you know all of my fashion inspirations.

Currently feeling kind of blue

Interestingly enough, rainy days do not make me feel sad... I love them!! When it rained here, I was jumping for joy, except for the fact that I don't own any rain boots. Since I lack appropriate rainy day clothes, I sort of threw this outfit together. I used the weather as the perfect day to debut my stormy blue-gray Current/Elliott skinny cords, which I love. Neiman Marcus actually had to order these pants to be sent to my house because they didn't have any left in my size, so I feel lucky to have them.

I am wearing my sister's embroidered shirt, my new Current/Elliott cords, and by black suede Bella Studio boots. Here I am rocking my blue look:

Next time the weather is kind of crazy, use it as an opportunity to dress accordingly...

Parisian Street Chic... almost

Anyone who knows me knows just how much I love Parisian style and the whole vibe over in Paris. When I went, I was in awe of every single stylish Parisian I saw. I noticed that most of the "street chic" Parisians wore all black (with the exception of one statement piece), had cozy-looking scarves, and walked through the streets in their black pumps or boots, depending on the weather. I adore the simplicity of Parisian style, because it works. They truly adopt the phrase "less is more", which I find so charming yet powerful.

On a different note, I am also a big fan of vintage-style clothing and accessories, as well as lace and ruffles. When I saw this lavender Bellarina scarf (see below) in a boutique near my house, I knew I had to have it. It's the perfect mix of vintage-looking, cozy, delicate, and unique all at the same time.

My Baby Kooba

The day has finally come for me to wear my all-time favorite little fall bag. My mom found this Kooba bag at Neiman Marcus over the summer, and took me over to see it. Needless to say, I immediately fell in love with it and everything about it... the miniature size, the shape, the soft purpley fall color, and the buttery leather it is made from. Ever since the day I bought it, I have been calling it my baby. My little Kooba is just so adorable!

On Sunday, I went to Malibu to do a little shopping. The weather was beautiful, and I found quite a few new fall clothes- including this t-shirt-dress from M. Fredric. My lavender-gray lacy top is from the B.P. section of Nordstrom. Although it is pretty light, I don't think that pairing it with my white Seven skinny jeans was a bad idea. The look sort of reminds me of something that I would wear if I were a Greek goddess in disguise as your average student. I guess it's because of the draped vibe (even though its just an elastic band at the bottom) of the top?

Yay finally some fall-ish weather! It was at least cool enough to wear leggings today. I got this red shirt from a boutique that sells mostly jewelry and handbags. I love the color and the fact that it has a really cute zipper pocket on it. To spice up the outfit, I decided to wear two fake blue butterflies attached to a wire (from a flower arrangement of my mom's) as bracelets. I'm also wearing my favorite diamond rings (see one of my previous posts) and a silver Tiffany bracelet, as well as black leggings and my silver Tory Burch sandals.

Preppy as a Waldorf

Between the hint of fall earlier this week, NY fashion week, and the season premiere of "Gossip Girl", I felt compelled to wear an extremely preppy/fall chic look reminiscent of something that Upper East Sider prep Blair Waldorf from "Gossip Girl" would wear (sans her signature bow headbands). Although it's hard to tell from the photo, my Aqua pleated miniskirt has a houndstooth pattern in it, adding a little interest to it. With it, I'm wearing a black James Perse tank top, my sister's cream colored Juicy Couture sweater, and black Juicy Couture mary jane style flats.

Fall at last?

There is nothing I love more than fall fashion. So when it started to cool down yesterday, I was thrilled. Content as could be, I decided to wear one of my favorite fall pieces today- a black Juicy Couture zip-up sweater. Since it is extremely long on me, I wore it as a dress, and paired it with my black Bella Studio boots (although I'm on the hunt for some gray boots), a Juicy Couture necklace, and some of my favorite rings. The only unfortunate thing is that, according to the weather forecast, it's supposed to heat back up towards the end of the week. Well, at least today's outfit gave me a taste of fall...but I can't wait until my favorite season of fashion is here to stay.

Dressy by the Lake

Last night, my family and I went to a nice dinner in a restaurant right on a lake. The view from our table was gorgeous, and the dinner was delicious! Anyways, I wore my cute but sophisticated BCBG dress with silver jewelry, Diane von Furstenburg sandals, and a black Kate Spade bag.

I love this because it is classic, yet I can change its look by adding various accessories. And, of course, I'm a big fan of ruffles (they aren't very visible in the photo, but trust me, they're there).

Today, The Trendy Dwarf nominated me for the Honest Scrap Award. So, according to his blog, I have to list 10 honest facts about myself, and then nominate some other blogs for the award. Here I go:

1. My current makeup obsession is Chanel fluid eyeshadow in Rivage (silvery blue)...It's liquid, shimmery, and oh so gorgeous.

2. I am a huge soccer player. It may be hard to believe since I try to completely immerse myself in the fashion world, but I spend at least 4 days per week on the soccer field, and I go for a run about 2 days per week.

3. I love drawing and designing. I have a sketchbook devoted to my designs and another one that contains some fashion sketches and some random drawings as well. I find designing so relaxing and enjoyable...it's the perfect escape.

4. I love love love pumpkin. Pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin ice blended drinks, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin butter, and even pumpkin fro yo. It's all so delicious.

5. My favorite movie is The Devil Wears Prada. I memorized every line from it. Enough said.

6. Italy is my favorite vacation spot. I went there over spring break, and am completely in love with everything Italian, especially the city of Florence. I secretly think I am Italian, and that I was adopted, although my parents think otherwise.

7. I have two Wheaten terriers, and they are the cutest dogs in the entire world. I love them!

8. My favorite types of weather are rain and snow. Unfortunately, neither occur where I live very often.

9. I love the beach, and especially the ocean. Something about the waves is really special to me.

10. One of my goals is to score a seat at any good show in NYC fashion week. I hope I can achieve that one.

Hey, sorry for the lack of posts this week, but with fall just around the corner, I'll have plenty of new outfit posts soon.

So I found this cute dress at Urban Outfitters, and a few alterations later, I was finally able to wear it. I love its silhouette consisting of a fitted, almost baby doll top and a big, puffy bottom. Paired with silver jewelry (I'm wearing a Chrome Hearts bangle on the top of my arm) and Tory Burch sandals, this dress is perfect to wear when going "out and about" during the day.

The Current skirt and the 80's top

At the beginning of the summer, I got this fabulous Current/Elliott jean skirt from Fred Segal. I was overjoyed to finally find a Current/Elliot garment that fit me, because I had really wanted a pair of the brand's ripped boyfriend jeans that were en vogue during the spring (and since they run big, even the smallest size was too big for me).

So once I found this fabulous skirt, I knew I needed a gray crop top to go with it ( yet another trend du jour, as well as of the 80's), and needless to say finding the perfect crop top was nearly impossible. Free People, however, answered my prayers. Yesterday I purchased this gray cropped sweater from there, which also serves as a crop top.

I am thrilled to, at last, have the perfect jean skirt ensemble. Here I am wearing my Current/Elliott skirt and Free People crop top with my Free People bandeau and metallic Havianas:

I guess the fashion world is big enough for the 80's and the Current to rule at once...

Top 15 Beauty Essentials

Pretty much all of my posts have been about my outfits, so I decided to write about my favorite products that I use quite a lot.

From left: 1. SkinCeuticals sunscreen SPF 30-which smells so good (for sunscreen). 2. Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Champagne adds sparkle and a hint of color- it's perfect for any occasion. 3. The fruity Viva La Juicy roll on perfume is great to take in my purse. 4 & 5. Bobby pins and plain hair ties are always a hair essential whether I'm going out or playing soccer. 6. I already did a post about OPI's Florentine Fuschia, but I still adore the fun shade of pink. 7. I love my Smashbox lipgloss, and you can't go wrong with any shade of it. 8. Q-tips are a necessity for makeup removal that's all there is to it. 9. Revlon tweezers, great for plucking brows. 10. Escada Ocean Lounge perfume, the most amazing perfume on the planet, is fruity and flirty, and I wear it every single day- it's just delicious. 11. Bath & Body Works hand sanitizer in Cucumber Melon is my savior, being the germo-phobe that I am. 12. L.A.M.B. solid perfume is yet another one of my favorites to take on-the-go. 13. Mark Lees daily moisturizer, which is light and water-based, leaves my skin feeling refreshed and healthy. 14. L'Occitane radiance mask in olive is another great skin helper and it smells like tapenade. 15. And lastly is MoroccanOil, the best serum I have ever used on my hair (and it also smells wonderful). It works on all hair types, and tranforms my hair by detangling/defrizzing/styling it with just a few drops. It's kind of expensive, but totally worth it.

So there you are, now well-informed about some of my favorite skin and hair products. Now put on your Smashbox gloss, and get ready to shine...

I love NY...and it loves me back

Anyone who knows me knows that I am completely obsessed with the east coast...and especially NYC. The people, the style, the food, the vibe and everything else is just better over there. So when I saw this Local Celebrity tank at Nordstrom, I had to have it...and it's soooo much more original than an I <3 NY shirt, of course.

And I could really use a good slice of NY pizza right now.

Anyway, I decided to pair the shirt with Machine white and gray bleached shorts, silver rhinestone Havianas, my red bag, and silver Chrome Hearts and Tiffany & Co bracelets. Here I am, wishing I was in one of my favorite boutiques in the city:

On the Party Scene

I always have trouble finding outfits to wear to casual parties. The most recent event I attended was no exception. My friend, whose party it was, told me to wear jeans. Since the party was at a club, however, I wanted to look a little more dressed up (as I thought many others would too). Thinking that everyone would show up in leggings and a fun top, I wore my American Apparel skirt and periwinkle blue Splendid tank, with gold chain necklaces, black Juicy flats and bright makeup. When I arrived, I was slightly disappointed to find that everyone was actually wearing jeans and t-shirts. Oops! But hey, since when is standing out from the crowd a bad thing?

Mint and Cinnamon

I have always loved the color of mint, so naturally I was quite pleased when one of my best friends gave me her light green t-shirt (thanks). Long story short, I wore it with my ripped True Religion shorts, Joan and David gold gladiators, my favorite red bag (the cinnamon), and some statement jewelry.

Concert Chic

As much as I hate to admit it, I went to the Jonas Brothers concert and loved it. I was not a fan of them at all, but my friend invited me to the concert, so I went, and really enjoyed myself. For the occasion, I wore a plain black tank top tucked into a ruffled Free People skirt, Joan and David peep toe heels, and my favorite silver jewelry. Overall, I think that I wore the perfect outfit for the event (there were countless screaming fans in head to toe Jonas-wear, which I find quite tacky), although I ended up changing into more practical shoes before I left the house.

Hey everyone, sorry for the temporary break- I was at soccer camp for 5 days. But I'm home now, and will be for the rest of the summer.

So anyway, I was in the area and decided to stop by FIDM to see their costume design exhibit. The gallery had costumes from various TV shows including "Gossip Girl" (my personal favorite), the outfits made by Leanne from "Project Runway", and the extravagant dresses worn by the cast of "The Tudors". After seeing the little exhibit, I decided where better to take a blog picture than at the fashion school itself? Oversized handbag and Coffee Bean ice blended in hand, I felt like a total California girl.

Hey everyone, I'm finally back to the blogging world after a two week break. My art camp was really fun, but I'm glad to be home now because I really missed my A-status wardrobe (I didn't exactly bring my nice clothes to camp). Anyway, being a huge fan of all things girly, I fell in love with this peach colored, lacy, button-down top from the store LF. Paired with a matching (in color) long tank top underneath, this shirt is great for looking put-together during the summer. With the shirts, I wore some stylishy ripped jean shorts, silver Tory Burch sandals, tons of silver jewelry, and my favorite red bag to create one of my favorite summer outfits so far.

In case anyone was wondering, I spent the past three weeks making a skirt at a fabulous fashion camp. I learned how to make a pattern, sew, and hem my own skirt. Unlike most items made by amateurs, my skirt actually fits me and looks professionally made, if I do say so myself. There are no loose threads, and even the inside has a hot pink binding, which covers all of the ugly seams and adds some character to the skirt. I paired the skirt with a hot pink American Apparel racerback tank, a summery knit scarf, and black strappy heels (I would have picked other shoes if I hadn't just gotten a pedicure).

Sometimes I wish I was from the 14 0r 1500's purely because I love the old-fashioned look of satin, overdone dresses paired with tons of jewelry and perfectly styled hair, pinned back or curled in an updo. Although my style is clearly much more minimalist than avant garde, I really appreciate the lavish look that women used to go for, back then. This outfit, although my blouse is a far cry from a Victorian ball gown, reminds me so much of the days where elegance was of the utmost importance and the idea of looking sloppy was not even invented yet.

Today I spent most of the day at home, so I used it as an opportunity to be creative and come up with a new look. Yesterday, I bought a necklace with a big white rose on it from Forever 21. I normally don't shop there, but yesterday I discovered how much fun their jewelry is. With my purple Splendid dress, Moschino scarf (worn as a belt), and silver Juicy platforms, the necklace finishes my outfit and gives it something special.

Diamonds really are a girl's best friend

Recently, my mom became acquainted with a line of jewelry, Indulge, owned, run, and designed by a local. Displayed in a room at the back of her house, this fine jewelry is exquisite in every way. After admiring my mom's new jewelry for months, I finally was able to see it for myself (because you have to make an appointment to view the collection). Upon walking into the room of goodness, I picked out three diamond rings that I absolutely adore. They are thin and dainty, and together they create a unique sparkle on my ring finger. Also, the color combo has a vintage vibe, which is so me, and probably the reason I love the look so much. Even the designer told me that champagne diamonds are en vogue.

Cheetah spots, zerbra stripes, and anything else animal-esque is IN right now. My Di Hera dress has cheetah print with black overlaying fabric and black spaghetti straps. It's so cute and fun, and I wore it to a wedding. Paired with black Glint heels, the look is edgy and fun, yet it is subtle enough to be worn to formal events.

Rompers= en vogue. It's as simple as that. I spent the past two days 'stay-cationing' at the beach, and I was finally able to wear my romper as a beach cover-up. It is so comfortable, and I can't wait to wear it again, hopefully to a BBQ or something. My romper is a halter from American Apparel. I decided that the look was sort of 80's so I added bright colored Forever 21 bangles (and my RayBans) to complete the look.

Summer is definitely the best time to try new color combos, so don't hesitate to take some risks. I'll admit that my style is considered "minimalist", so fashion risks for me aren't really that daring compared to most people. Ordinarily, however, I would stick with a silver bag to compliment the dress and shoes I am wearing in this photo. Today, however, I decided to wear a bright red tote to make the outfit pop. One thing I like about statement bags is that they can always take an outfit to the next level of vogueness. This outfit, to me, is ideal for wearing while shopping on Rodeo during the summertime.

Body Con skirt and Earth Tones

During the summer, everyone likes to show a little skin. 'Body con' skirts are totally en vogue this season. Body con= body conscious, as in, clothing that is so tight that they make you wish you hadn't eaten that doughnut yesterday. American Apparel has a ton of mini skirts and dresses, which I adore. My army green body con skirt is American Apparel, and I have another one in black. Since mine are plain, they match with a lot, and can be dressed up or down. I paired my skirt with a dark gray American Apparel top, gold gladiators, and a pile of gold jewelry.

School officially ended today and I am completely ecstatic. As you can see from this photo, I am so excited to cleanse myself (and my desk) of all 3 ring binders, textbooks, and spiral notebooks. It's still really gloomy out, though, which is frustrating me because I have a craving to wear my new Ella Moss mini dress sans tights. Supposedly it will warm up next week, just in time for my 2 day beach getaway.

Since my summer outfits are still in my closet, I had to use my favorite black studded belt to add a little bit of creativity to my otherwise plain teal tank. Due to the unfortunate weather, I am also wearing Splendid leggings and my Bella Studio boots.

I'm a boho, get me outta the valley

Summer is just one very pointless school day away, and I am sooooo excited. Today, I went shopping and bought a few things, this very cute Honey Punch maxi dress among them. It is so fun and summery, and it makes me want to be watching the sunset on some beach in Hawaii. Meanwhile, the weather here is cold, gloomy, and disgusting, which is kind of ruining the summer mood. Today this outfit says, "I'm a boho, get me out of the valley" more than anything else. I need the beach!!!! And warm weather. And a plane ticket to Maui. Normally, I don't dress very bohemian, but this dress is a summer must-have. Also, I recommend that you wear chunky or statement-making accessories with dresses like this, because as adorable as they are, they need a little extra something to create a finished look.

Another cloudy, kind of cold day. After staring at my closet for quite a while, I came up with this new, sort of summery, yet weather appropriate outfit. And I released my jean jacket from the coat closet for the first time since fall. I think it really gives my outfit a finished look. Jean jackets are definitely a necessity during fall, spring, and summer days, especially when the temperature is in the 60's or 70's. Today, I was especially glad that jean jackets are a classic, because they can spice up any look, as long as you aren't wearing jean pants. That is a major fashion no-no.

Don't Rain on my Parade

When I woke up this morning it was raining. Being a total valley girl, I had no idea what to wear in this summer rain situation. I am so over my winter/warm clothes. Unfortunately, I guess it's not time to wear my new shorts quite yet. So today I had to come up with the best outfit for the strange weather situation, and I only had about 15 minutes to do so.

Here I am trying to look as summery as possible in the rain in Frankie B. jeans, an American Apparel top, Steve Madden boots, a Juicy necklace, and a classic Burberry Scarf:

Hopefully after today I'll be able to put the umbrella away until next year...

"Them Baggy Sweatpants"

I know, sweats are not exactly a fashion statement, but there is a time and a place for them. And there is no better time than finals to dress as casual/comfy as possible. These Free City sweatpants are my favorite because they are soooo soft. I paired them with a Splendid top to balance out the bagginess (is that a word?). For finals week, being casual cute is fine with me, but don't expect to see this again any time soon:

Unleash the inner Edge

I will admit that I am being kind of hypocritical right now- I often stress the fact that nobody should wear too many dark articles of clothing at one time. I kind of felt like breaking that fashion rule today, though. I am wearing my black True Religion skinny jeans and a cream colored t-shirt with black designs, rhinestones, and studs on it. To exaggerate the look, I wore black Joan and David peep-toe pumps with it (I ended up wearing less edgy shoes to school though).

Here I am, stepping on my cutesie pink pillow with my classic, girly, Parisian posters hanging askew. Quite the rebellious vibe, at least for me it is:

cloudy skies+finals week= gray mood.

Everything is kind of blah for now, with finals coming up in 2 days. My outfit definitely mirrored that, combined with the gray skies. There was also an award ceremony for me at school, so I had to look presentable. I decided, since sequins are en vogue (see Sunday's post), to wear a Bailey 44 dress that has a subtle sparkle around my waist for this occasion. Plus I had to wear flats, because I have a major fear of tripping on stage in heels. These gray suede tie-up flats definitely look like pointe shoes, so here I am channeling a ballerina:

"When I'm stuck with a day that's gray and lonely," I just dress like my mood.

But it's always sunny tomorrow...

Never be afraid to Sparkle

It's no secret that sparkly dresses are full on "en vogue" right now. Style.com even has a whole slideshow dedicated to glistening dresses. I personally think sequined dresses are perfect for parties because they make a statement and show that you love to have fun. Who wouldn't want to wear a shimmery dress to a party or school dance? Be careful, however, and make sure your sparkles are more subtle if you plan on wearing a sequined dress to a more formal event (such as a dinner or black tie wedding).

In this photo, I am wearing a black sequined Aqua minidress from the kids' section :-) of Bloomingdale's. I wore this dress to the homecoming dance, but I think it's time to wear it out again.

Elegant Equestrian

I have never been a fan of horseback riding, but whenever I wear my infamous "jean leggings" with my Bella Studio black suede boots, I immediately think I look like an equestrian. My boots definitely resemble riding boots, and I guess the tight fit of my jean leggings (they are actually just thick leggings in a denim color) remind me of jodhpurs. I'm also wearing a Splendid tank, my pink James Perse blouse (that I wore the other day, it's so versatile) and my grandma's old hat, to finish off the look.
